Quality Natural Stone Floor Restoration For North Shields’ Salthouse

A fantastic example of this is the work that we have recently completed for the renowned Ibicencan tapas joint, Salthouse, located in North Shields on the beautiful North East coastline.
A good scrub up
When owners Mark and Shelley Deakin first secured their premises for Salthouse, the flooring of the building was in pretty dire condition. It was clear that underneath the solid layer of polish and grease, however, there existed a beautiful, natural stone floor, just waiting to be restored to its former glory.
The flooring was in bad condition. Being specialists in the restoration of natural stone flooring, however, we were entirely confident that we could produce some fantastic results. As such, the premises at Salthouse called for a thorough restoration clean.
Our solution to restoration
Here at Paul Dyson, our wealth of experience, specialist training and extensive insight means that we know exactly how to care for your natural stone floors.
This includes being confident as to which products are most appropriate to achieve the best results depending upon the geological classification of your stone flooring, which we can identify in order to plan the best method of care.
We began by carefully scraping off the top coating of the flooring that remained in the wake of the previous ownership. Once this was complete, we worked with a ph-neutral cleaning solution. This high-performance surfactant is mixed with enzymes in order to break down stubborn soil, grease and polish residue.
This solution is applied to the flooring and allowed to sit upon the stone for a time, before being worked with a counter-rotating brush, which we use to release the bond of the dirt and grease upon the floor. We were thrilled with the results of this restoration clean, which served to bring out the real beauty of the natural stone that lay beneath the build-up of dirt and polish.
Additionally, we also thoroughly steam cleaned the toilets at the Salthouse premises. Apologies once again to the neighbours for triggering the fire alarms with our steam! Whoops!
As always, we did all we could to prevent disruption to the business. We carried out the restoration and cleaning work on a Monday when SaltHouse was closed to the public. We completed the work within the day, leaving the premises spick and span and ready for business.
Post-floor care
Salthouse came back to us after our successful job to complete another deep clean and asked if it was possible to get a higher gloss level. This would add a greater expression of light and cleanliness to the restaurant to entice more customers.
As the high gloss they were looking for required greater maintenance, we recommended a regular maintenance schedule that would fit around their business hours. This would include a deep clean and will maintain the gloss they desired.
Finally, we also provided them with our 10 litres own Neutral Floor Cleaner to be used in maintenance for the floors; this included the safety floor and wooden floor seating areas.
For all those local to North Shields, Salthouse comes highly recommended and was awarded the TripAdviser 2021 ‘Travellers Choice’ award. We like to think that this is, in small part, due to the wow factor of the restaurant’s interior, and in particular, the gorgeous stone flooring that we helped to lovingly restore!
