Introducing Our Senior Technician, Harry Dyson
We are back with another meet-the-team blog, and this week we are finding out more about Harry Dyson, Senior Technician and son of our company founder, Paul Dyson.
In this blog, we will take a look at his role in more detail and how he has grown with the company over the last decade and helped support Paul with the day-to-day running of the business.
How long have you been working at Paul Dyson Commercial Floor Care?
I have worked in the business for around 12 years now and have watched the company go from strength to strength.
The business is established in the market, and I love every aspect of what I do, but most importantly, I love how rewarding each and every job can be.
What are your day-to-day responsibilities?
Day-to-day, I get involved in all aspects of the business to support the operations in any way that I can.
This can range from taking enquiries, booking quotations, and sending invoices, to carrying out machine maintenance, ordering stock, and washing the vans we use every day.
I do a little bit of everything as I am qualified as a specialist in the renovation and maintenance of stone floors, and due to my industry experience, I can carry out all aspects of the job.
If you had to choose one carpet/floor cleaning service, what would be your favourite to deliver and why?
I honestly don’t think I could choose a cleaning service, that’s why I love my job so much as they are all amazing in different ways, so I will have to narrow it down to my top 3!
In no particular order, I’d say one of the most rewarding jobs is carpet repair, as customers are really blown away by the results.
I also love polishing a natural floor up, whether that’s marble or limestone, as these jobs are particularly time-consuming so it’s always a relief when our customers are happy with the end result.
Last but not least, I love carrying out full floor restorations where we completely resurface a floor, as the before and afters of these jobs are just great to look back on.
I couldn’t choose between the three of these jobs as, in all honesty, I love them all!
How do you like to spend your free time?
I enjoy socialising with others in my free time, whether that’s through music events or sports.
I run my own events company as well as working here at Paul Dyson Commercial Floor Care, so love to attend nighttime rave music events.
Getting involved in sports is also an important part of my life, I play football twice a week and golf here and there, and I like watching football too, particularly when Newcastle are playing!
We know all of that cleaning is thirsty work, so the most important question of all…coffee or tea?
Coffee or tea? Well, this all depends on how I’m feeling…
It’s probably going to have to be tea. However, the older I get, the more tired I get working this job, so a midday cup of coffee hits the spot.
However, if I had to make a choice, it would definitely be a nice cuppa!
