A brilliant example of our carpet cleaning abilities is evidenced in the work that we have recently completed for the buzzing Newcastle cocktail bar, Tiger Hornsby.
A carpet in dire straits
The owners of Tiger Hornsby had invested heavily in the interiors of their premises. Anyone who has visited will know that this place certainly has the wow factor.
An integral aspect of their aesthetic is the bespoke carpet sourced from prestigious producers Axminster Carpets, which covers a large portion of the floor at this spectacular bar. Unfortunately, the carpet had previously been cleaned incorrectly, leading to rapid re-soiling which created a shabby feel in this otherwise wonderful spot. What’s more, incorrect cleaning of a carpet of this quality can easily lead to shrinkage and browning – certainly not what the owners of Tiger Hornsby had in mind when they invested in this speciality wool carpet!

A specialist solution
Luckily, the work required at Tiger Hornsby was well within our remit, as we pride ourselves on our ability to provide specialist care to bespoke, quality carpets.
The condition of the carpet called for a hot water extraction system, rather than a steam-clean method. This is because steam can damage wool carpet, causing it to lose its memory. By opting for a hot water extraction clean, we hoped to restore the luxury feel of this beautiful carpet whilst preserving its integrity.
In order to bring the beauty out in this 100% wool carpet, we worked with specialist biodegradable and naturally based neutral cleaners. These products enabled us to clean the carpet gently yet effectively, preserving the integrity and beauty of the wool. By opting to seal the carpet with specialist sealants, such as Legends Chemspec Stainshield, we sought to protect it against wear and render it easier to clean.
As always, we worked carefully around the opening hours of the business, so as not to disturb the daily running of this popular bar. The full clean was carried out during morning hours, ensuring that the bar was ready to open to the public in the evening. In order to ensure that the staff could focus on their tasks, we moved all of the furniture ourselves, before returning it to its original layout.
All in all, it was a fantastic project, and the carpet came up beautifully, with incredibly satisfying results for both ourselves and the owners and managers at Tiger Hornsby.
