The Grand Hotel Tynemouth is a 19th-century built hotel that boasts a beautiful seafront view and modern accommodation for visitors to the North East. With a proud heritage in Tynemouth and playing host to an endless list of VIPs and celebrities since the late 1800s, The Grand Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the North East coastline and the many attractions that the region has to offer.
The Issue:
Cleaning and maintenance are of paramount importance to this hospitality client. Key sections such as the guest rooms, communal areas, entranceway, and outdoor area are in need of continuous upkeep and require a number of specialist services to maintain the carpets and upholstery within the 3-star luxury hotel and North East landmark.
The Solution:
We conduct frequent carpet cleaning and specialist upholstery stain removal to ensure that sand and debris are removed from the premise’s public areas and private rooms. In this particular case, we were confronted with carpets that had been affected by flood damage and a number of various stains from guests, including coffee, ground in dirt, and nail polish.
Our professional carpet cleaning team began the task by removing the carpet and underlay, draining any remaining water from the area, and disinfecting the subfloor. We wanted to ensure that the relaid carpet not only looked fresh but was unaffected by the contaminated water – guaranteeing that it was safe for customers.
Once the area was dry, we refitted the underlay and the carpet, cleaning and disinfecting at every stage to ensure it was well-cleaned and that it blended seamlessly with the rest of the room.
As a 3-star hotel with historical features, it was important to the client that the outside of the building reflected the grandiose and old-world interiors. We completed a soft wash on the sandstone in the front entrance and stairs. We used a specialist combination of soaps, hypo, and water for a gentle treatment, removing the build-up debris and algae from these century-old stones.
The Results:
This full day of treatment has given The Grand Hotel a new lease of life. With our continued service, the well-maintained exterior and interior flooring and upholstery provide visitors with a positive first impression of the establishment.
