💦 Residential Flood Restoration 💦

We were called out last week for a small flood job in Forest Hall.

Saturated Carpet. (backing)

The water came from the toilet area and crept under the skirting boards meaning it is probably contaminated. The customer did not want to go through insurance due to the size of the carpet needing to be replaced and their access being very expensive.

We removed the saturated contaminated underlay, cleaned the carpet and the backing, disinfected all areas including the subfloor to kill and bacteria that may be growing, then dried off the area using our air movers.

Removing Contaminated Underlay

Once the carpet was dry we were faced with delamination, this is when the primary backing and the secondary backing separate due to the latex getting broken down by the mass amount of water from the flood, as you can see in one of the photos the carpet looks rippled.

Luckily we managed to repair the carpet and lay it back down to how it was originally. The customer was extremely relieved as we saved him hundreds of pounds in the end.

Clean, Dry, Safe.
