Stellar Starbucks Deep-Clean!
For Paul Dyson, a deep clean of slate flooring is as simple as making a Starbucks latte!
Starbucks is known for its large footfall, which makes it understandable that its outdoor slate floor would need a good deep clean every now and again. This outdoor seating area extends out onto Eldon Square’s ‘Hippy Green’ (as it’s known by the locals), and with a large number of people visiting every day, it’s inevitable that the area gets a bit grimy over time.
Thankfully, we were on hand to give it a new lease of life. Our flexible schedule meant an early start would avoid disrupting Starbucks’ regular business, and we had their outdoor seating area cleaned and ready for customers arriving in the morning.
A brew-tiful Starbucks clean
Our outdoor cleaning services range from pressure washing to softer washing depending on the needs of the client. Power washing is suitable for dealing with the build-up of oil and fuel from parked cars, as well as the formation of algae and lichen, so it’s more suitable for patios and driveways. The stone flooring at Starbucks required a softer touch, as the power washing may have ended up harmful to the stone.
We began the deep clean of the slate area, using a neutral degreaser to avoid damaging the stone. Anything too acidic might be detrimental to the slate, so we used a more neutral solution to give it a longer lifespan.
After giving it a good soak, we rinsed it with water and used high heat to cut through the grease and penetrate the gum stuck to the stone.
The client was delighted with the end result and it was a very satisfying job to do.
